Hello and welcome to my website.

My name is Hayley Matthews, I am a self taught Scottish artist, working from my home Studio Gallery in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

My artwork is inspired by dramatic, beautiful landscapes that leave a lasting impression.   Through my art I am inspired to transform the ordinary into something truly special, capturing atmosphere, emotion and a strong sense of place.   

Vibrant colour sits at the heart of my paintings drawing the viewer into each scene and forging a strong emotional connection.    Complementing the bold colourful artwork, I also enjoy creating dramatic, ethereal forest scenes that are deeply atmospheric and cativating. 

I primarily work with acrylics valuing their versatility and expressive qualities, while being eager to explore additional mediums as my practice evolves.

I am deeply passionate about my artwork and my style is constantly developing.  As an artist, I find this very exciting.    I consider myself very fortunate to have the freedom to create on a daily basis and I am sincerely grateful for the continued support of those who engage with and collect my work.
